MARTHA DEVOTION HUNTINGTON CHAPTER BAY VILLAGE, OHIO Organized October 5, 1940
Chapter History: October 1940 was the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. It was also the time of the founding of Martha Devotion Huntington Chapter. Miss Gretchen Miller, Regent by authorization, met with a required number of twelve women to organize a new chapter.
The chapter was named for Martha Devotion Huntington, wife of Samuel Huntington, a signer of the United States Constitution. Their son, Samuel Huntington II, settled in Ohio in the early 1880s. He was Ohio Governor 1808-1810. |
