        MARTHA DEVOTION HUNTINGTON CHAPTER
                            BAY VILLAGE, OHIO
                      Organized October 5, 1940
Chapter History: October 1940 was the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. It was also the time of the founding of Martha Devotion Huntington Chapter. Miss Gretchen Miller, Regent by authorization, met with a required number of twelve women to organize a new chapter.

The chapter was named for Martha Devotion Huntington, wife of Samuel Huntington, a signer of the United States Constitution. Their son, Samuel Huntington II, settled in Ohio in the early 1880s. He was Ohio Governor 1808-1810.
Membership Requirements: Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.
For general questions about membership
Martha Devotion Huntington is proud to take part in the following activities: Distributing Flag Code Booklets, Citizenship Manuals, and flags to Boy and Girl Scout troops. The chapter has also made contributions to Ellis Island, American Indian Schools, and area Veteran Hospitals.

We are also proud to have two chapter members elected Bay Village Citizen of the Year.
